Facilities

Welcome to Diseworth Heritage Centre - an 18th century converted chapel building,
in the heart of a peaceful rural village, yet with 21st century facilities.

The Centre offers a range of facilities to suit different needs, from a small group meeting, to a theatre-style presentation for up to 40 people. You can find details of each area below, then see our Bookings page for details of Hire Rates.


Main Hall

The Main Hall can be used for exhibitions, performances, films and business meetings, and is the main activity area in the building.  The space can be arranged in a number of formats, including theatre style with seating for up to 40,  a 'board room' format around a large central table, or with separate tables for smaller groups.

This space is equipped with data projection facilities (we can provide a laptop if needed), and a sound reinforcement / PA system.  There is also an Induction Loop system for those with hearing difficulties.

The Main Hall also houses a small museum of artefacts, pictures and memorabilia reflecting life in Diseworth and Long Whatton in the past. This is intended to spark the interest of visitors, especially children, and lead on to further study of the history of the local community.

Coffee Bar

The Coffee Bar is suitable for small group meetings, and has an adjacent kitchen and toilets with disabled access.  This space may be used in conjunction with the main hall, or for more informal gatherings.  A PC with a large format screen is available in this area for those unable to use the first floor IT Suite (access by stairs only).

Kitchen and Catering

The Kitchen is fully equipped with tea and coffee making equipment and a microwave oven.  We can also arrange catering for events, with a range of menus, such as buffet lunches.  The Centre is not Licensed, but event organisers are welcome to provide and serve their own alcoholic drinks to their attendees at no charge.

IT Suite     

 The IT Suite is located on the first floor, overlooking the Main Hall. This is equipped with a five personal computers with internet access, each of which has printing and scanning facilities. It is suitable for research by groups or individuals, and training sessions on history and IT related subjects.

All PCs have Office 2007 and broadband access, and can scan and print "en suite"


Other Facilities

 WiFi access is available throughout the building, and a laptop PC and data projector allow presentations and online shows to be made in the Main Hall or Coffee Bar areas.

Outside the building is the Sanctuary Garden, a place for rest and reflection.  Bordered on one side by the Diseworth brook, with seating on benches,  this is a useful space for outdoor relaxation.
